Crop Advantage Field Tech

Field-Techs will be responsible for on farm field diagnostics identifying insects, weeds, and diseases that could cause yield reductions. Electronic tablets will be used to record pest density and severity along with plant populations and other field conditions. They will also be scouting with the aid of satellite imagery. Other jobs that may be assigned are grooming test plots, signing test plots, and putting up field signs. Field-Techs will also be expected to present an overview of their experiences to Heritage Cooperative Senior Staff at the conclusion of the program.



-Identify and record weeds and Insects found while observing fields.

-Using satellite imagery to find and diagnose problem areas in fields.

-Diagnose diseases that are found while performing field observations

-Maintaining test plots.

-Positioning seed/field signs along field edges.



-Possess a professional and positive attitude

-Have reliable transportation

-Able to effectively communicate with employees and customers

-Are currently involved with an agricultural major or express general interest in agriculture. Agronomy knowledge is not needed, but is helpful. Training will be provided for needed information.



-Willing to start in May.

-Working some overtime, possible weekends (work is weather dependant)

-Working outside in variable weather conditions





Work Authorization

Evidence of work authorization upon employment is required in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. Completion of USCIS form I-9 will be required in order to verify employment eligibility within 3 business days of the first day of employment.
