Director of Communications and Marketing


Location: OHIO

 

 

Heritage Cooperative is a member-owned cooperative dating back to 1919. Our Marketing Department is seeking an experienced team member to be responsible for providing communication, branding, and philanthropic coordination for Heritage Cooperative.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with development and maintenance of consistent branding throughout company via communications, clothing, and other marketing avenues
  • Design publications and work directly with printer for the proofing, printing, and mailing distribution as needed
  • Manage all Heritage Cooperative social media platforms
  • Oversee website content to ensure it is current and consistent with our branding image
  • Design, edit, and manage seasonal printed newsletters
  • Review and edit company communications for errors
  • Facilitate employee events, customer promotions, appreciations and tours
  • Provide input, direction, and administrative support for advertising, direct mailings, promotions and other programs to bring awareness to our target audience
  • Document Heritage Cooperative current events through photography, videography and other methodology
  • Manage donation requests and follow-up with earned media
  • Manage Communications’ spending records and activities
  • Develop and maintain contacts with schools, business partners, chambers of commerce and other networking resources
  • Represent at conventions, conferences, career fairs, and trade shows as needed
  • Participate in executive, management and company staff meetings
  • Attend appropriate training and continuing education opportunities
  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • Project a positive attitude and image to customers, employees, and business partners at all times
  • Observe and enforce all safety requirements and company policies including the credit policy

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to learn key operational computer programs
    • Strong analytical and strategic decision-making abilities
    • Skilled in organizing and prioritizing multiple projects to meet deadlines with the ability to adapt within a changing environment
    • High attention to detail and accuracy
    • Willingness to work both as a team member and independently, while being self-motivated and self-directed
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective communication with customers, employees, supervisors, and suppliers
    • Excellent verbal, written, grammatical, analytical and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to carefully and accurately proof, edit and approve written, graphic, and recorded communications
    • Knowledgeable in graphic design, photography, videography and Social Media
    • Able to prepare reports and business correspondence
    • Committed to excellence and high standards
    • Graduation from an accredited related program. Relevant experience may be substituted for education
    • 5+ years of related experience
    • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
    • Cooperative and/or agricultural background desirable
    • Desire to serve farmers, agribusinesses and others involved in the agriculture industry

      Work Authorization
