Happy Friday everyone! I can’t believe it’s back to school time for the kiddos. Where has the summer gone? Outside markets are continuing to see losses due to lingering concerns on inflation allowing money flow to make its way into commodities.

All eyes this week have been focused on the USDA report today, it had a little bit for everyone. If you’re on the bullish side we did see some reduction in yields, which were already expected by the trade. If you’re on the bearish side,

Hard to believe we are into August already, but here we are. Another volatile week in the grain markets as favorable weather forecasts continue for much of the Midwest. Condition ratings for corn dropped two percentage points for the nation but did get one point better ...

This week has brought double digit moves in both directions in the futures markets. Improved crop condition ratings on both corn and soybeans, and a somewhat bearish crop report last week.

Grains this week did show some signs of life again. Corn and beans have rallied some 40 cents each this week, but wheat continues to struggle. News of a fairly substantial wheat purchase into an eastern US port from Europe seemed to keep wheat futures subdued.
