Happy St. Patrick’s Day! We are putting the final touches on an interesting week in the commodity markets. We find corn trading twenty cents stronger and beans doing the opposite at twenty lower for the week.
The USDA released its latest supply/demand update this week and made minor adjustments to the export figures. Corn showed a reduction of 75 million bushels putting the carry-out figure at 1.342 billion bushels. Meanwhile beans were looking at a slight increase of 25MB, thus an ending stock of 0.210BB...
The grain market’s have been trading on both sides of unchanged this week. Traders seem to be focused on weather issues in the southern hemisphere, too much rain in the north, and continued heat in the south.
