Fueling The Cure
By choosing 1st Choice Energy Services as your propane provider you are supporting cancer research and prevention.
Heritage Cooperative is proud to be an inaugural member of Fueling the Cure™ – a joint effort between four Ohio-based agriculture cooperatives working to fund food-based cancer research. Since its inception in 2009, our company has donated $1 for every propane delivery stop. Collectively, Fueling the Cure has raised nearly $2,000,000 to date.
Money raised through the Cooperatives for the Cure of Cancer Endowment Fund directly benefits food-based cancer research at The James/Comprehensive Cancer Center and the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. These funds support research focused on identifying dietary and nutritional components that aid in cancer treatment and prevention. Funding also supports the Garden of Hope at the Waterman Facility, providing a purposeful avenue for cancer survivors and their loved ones to cope after treatment.
Ohio Hot Air Balloon Festivals
For many years 1st Choice Energy Services has fueled smiles for thousands of our neighbors. We are proud to be the propane sponsor fueling the balloons at the All Ohio Balloon Festival in Marysville and the Champaign County Balloon Fest in Urbana.
In 2022, The All Ohio Balloon Festival was able to raise over $19,000 for the Hope Center which serves less fortunate families and people in need throughout Union County.
Ohio FFA
At 1st Choice Energy Services, we are dedicated to inspiring young leaders to pursue a career in agriculture. Working with Ohio agriscience education teachers and FFA advisors, we hope to introduce students to the career and leadership opportunities our industry offers.
As a 2023 Ohio FFA Foundation Platinum Sponsor, Heritage Cooperative served as the presenting sponsor for the Ohio FFA Convention Career Show & Expo. Our company also supports student award programs by volunteering as judges for various events throughout the year, invests in the Ohio Association of Agricultural Educators, and funds chapter grants to advance programming for members, schools, and communities.
Farm Science Review
1st Choice Energy Services is the annual sponsor for diesel fuel needed to power the test plot equipment at the globally acclaimed Farm Science Review in London, OH.
