Good afternoon. Everyone seemed to get a good run of beans this week and yields have been somewhat better than anticipated. That is a welcomed sight as the flat price continues to work lower as harvest pressure continues to weigh on the market...

Harvest is slow to get going around here. Soybeans are not ripening very fast, and the corn isn’t drying down. It appears that the users of corn had enticed enough farmers to start harvesting corn as the basis for cash deliveries have backed off substantially this week...

Hard to believe we are at the halfway point of September. Sure doesn’t look like it when driving around. Crops are still green, and very little are starting to turn.

USDA’s World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report was released on September 12th and supplied some unexpected changes.

Well, Labor Day weekend is here, the unofficial end of summer. Not going to feel like it, as we are supposed to be headed into the mid 90’s the middle of next week. Honestly, the heat is still needed as crops are still a long way from maturity...

Happy Friday everyone! I can’t believe it’s back to school time for the kiddos. Where has the summer gone? Outside markets are continuing to see losses due to lingering concerns on inflation allowing money flow to make its way into commodities.

Hard to believe we are into August already, but here we are. Another volatile week in the grain markets as favorable weather forecasts continue for much of the Midwest. Condition ratings for corn dropped two percentage points for the nation but did get one point better ...

This week has brought double digit moves in both directions in the futures markets. Improved crop condition ratings on both corn and soybeans, and a somewhat bearish crop report last week.
