Venison Cheeseburger Soup
Venison Cheeseburger Soup

Time: 30 - 40 minutes

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup peeled, diced potatoes
  • ½ cup vegetable oil 
  • 2 pounds ground venison 
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 finely chopped green pepper
  • ½ cup finely chopped jalapeños
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 ½ quarts beef broth
  • 1 ½ pounds American cheese
 
Method:
  • Boil potatoes until fork tender.
  • Drain potatoes, cover to keep them warm.
  • In a large stock pot on medium-high, heat oil.
  • When the pan and oil is hot, add venison.
  • As the venison is cooking, break up after 10 minutes, add onion and bell pepper, and stir.
  • Once stirred, add jalapeño, flour, and seasonings.
  • Cook and stir until mixed well for 3-4 minutes.
  • Add broth, lower heat to medium.
  • Cook and stir until heated through.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add cheese one at a time to melt and stir gently.
  • Add potatoes and a few finely chopped onions.
  • Heat, serve, and enjoy!
Notes:
  • You can use 1 pound venison and 1 pound ground beef
